Our history

Commer Group is a technology solutions company founded in the mid 90s as a design agency and multimedia firm then pivoting to a focus on web application development and professional services. For the last 10 years, Commer Group has successfully delivered applications and services for a wide range of clients but found notable success in managing and building integrated ecommerce websites that combine clean, functional UI/UX with retail and management tools that allow your business to meet our clients’ competitive requirements.

Not only an innovative developer, Commer closed its physical doors in 2001, and ever since has leveraged technology to offer its partners, clients and staff, the benefits of a truly virtual and distributed workforce.

David Gazsi

The team’s roadmap is realized and operationalized through Commer’s team of developers and designers under David’s direction. Before joining Cary as a Commer Group partner 18 years ago, David spent 15 years building a previous software venture working in international trade, and serving as a public company officer for a series of TSX start-ups.

His career began with designing and implementing e-commerce and data-driven websites for a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to prominent national organizations. With a 25-year career as a Systems Administrator, Eric Hunter brings a wealth of expertise in managing and optimizing IT infrastructures. His proficiency encompasses a deep understanding of Linux environments, complemented by extensive experience in the fast-paced realm of e-commerce. Known for his reliability and composure, Eric excels in high-pressure situations, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing downtime. He is dedicated to leveraging technology to drive efficiency and innovation, and is committed to delivering stable, secure, and high-performing systems.
Ed Wong
Partner & FullStack Developer
Ed has been with Commer Group for over 20 years and has been developing software solutions for over 30 years. He’s proficient in both front-end and server web applications, mobile apps (Single-page apps/iPhone iOS), database integration (Mongo/MySQL) and integration with many of the popular open source and technology services. He has developed with many of the major languages including PHP, Javascript, C/C++, Swift/Objective-C and Java. He loves dogs and sometimes his kids as well.
Cary Moretti
Founder
Cary is a serial entrepreneur, technologist, and visionary who brings 25 years of experience to this venture. His skill sets are both varied and deep; he has led multiple tech teams and executed on projects ranging from mass delivery of real-time data to AI implementations for tracking and analytics.
